Rockford Hockey Club gave back to the community in a big way last November. The RHC Food Drive raised over 500 pounds of canned food and over fourty RHC players donated their time to the Thanksgiving Service for the Rockford Rescue Mission. Some players stocked shelves in the pantry, some cleaned windows and swept floors, some served food, and some offered special words of thought to the many people who attended the service. Along with the assistance of the Rockford IceHogs, Rockford Hockey should be very proud to have helped their community on this very special day. A special Thank You to Ranba Noble who allowed RHC the gift of giving back.
The Children’s Medical Center, at Rockford Memorial Hospital offers the most advanced care for children, in our region. In 2006, they were recognized by the Illinois Department of Health as a Pediatric Critical Care Center. This distinction makes them one of only 8 hospitals in Illinois recognized for providing the highest level of specialized critical care and emergency care services to children. At Rockford Memorial Hospital, you will find the regions only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. In December, Rockford Hockey Club visited the Pediatric Ward at Rockford Memorial Hospital. RHC gave the gift of love and hope, to those children, by presenting them with a Teddy Bear/Stuffed Animal. We wanted to make these children feel special, throughout this Holiday Season. Rockford Hockey Club represented the true meaning of Christmas. Each and every child was touched by this event!
