Welcome Back Coach Burfoot!

The Rockford Hockey Club is pleased to announce the return of Scott Burfoot as the Head Coach of the 12UAA team for the 2025-2026 season. In addition to coaching the team, Scott will also assist with skill development for all teams. Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Scott’s love for hockey began in his hometown. Scott played hockey at MercyHurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania and has more than 20 years of coaching experience.


CAREER HIGHLIGHTS • Played minor league hockey for more than eight years • Served two years as assistant coach for the Rockford IceHogs (UHL) • Played for Rockford IceHogs for one year • Named head coach of Rockford IceHogs in 2003 • Began as RPD Hockey Director in 2003 • Youth coach for Rockford Hockey Club for 15 years • Tier 1 (AAA) Youth Hockey Coach for Madison Capitols (1 year) and Chicago Fury (5 years) • General Manager of RPD Ice Facilities.


ADDITIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Jersey retired during college career • Inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame • ECAC Player of Year, twice • Participated in Pan American Games in 1999, received gold medal in roller hockey for team Canada • In the 2015-2016 season, his RHC team won the Central States Championship, the Warrior Tournament, and finished first in the country on the MyHockey 2015-16 USA 03 – Tier 2 Rankings • Level 5 USA Certified Hockey Coach • 2024 Inducted in the ECHL Hall of Fame
